Meet the Peer Mentors
Arianna
Majors: Vocal Performance, Computer Science
Why I Became an SSC Peer Mentor: I became a mentor because I love to learn, teach, and meet new people, and as a peer mentor, I get to do all three!
Hunter
Major: Parks & Recreation Law Enforcement
Why I Became an SSC Peer Mentor: I wanted to be a part of something bigger than myself and guide students in the right direction in their classes. I’m all about helping students and individuals, so I believe that being a peer mentor was the right fit.
Jacob “Tanner”
Major: Mathematics
Why I Became an SSC Peer Mentor: The reason I wanted to be a Peer Mentor is because I feel math, especially in college, gets a bad rap and is seen as being too difficult. I want to show students that math is something that everybody can do, and it is something that is quite enjoyable and should be seriously considered as a major.
Jennifer
Major: Pharmacy
Why I Became an SSC Peer Mentor: I wanted to be a peer mentor because I want to be able to help students like I help my friends. It's rewarding seeing when a student finally understands something, they have been struggling with. Teaching students also helps me understand the material better.
Jonathan
Major: Chemistry
Why I Became an SSC Peer Mentor: I wanted to become an SSC Peer Mentor because I believe I have the skills to help others with their studies, and I enjoy it at the same time.
Kinsey
Major: Biology
Why I Became an SSC Peer Mentor: This is my third tutoring job, as I used to work at Kumon and then at Burcham Elementary. I wanted to be a peer mentor because I work well with people, I have experience in tutoring, and it allows me to have a job more specific to my major.
Meredith
My major is Biomedical Science with a minor in Criminal Justice.
Why I Became an SSC Peer Mentor: I wanted to become a peer mentor to help students achieve their goals during their college careers at SWOSU.
