SWOSU and the Board of Regents of the Regional University System of Oklahoma (RUSO) wants to ensure a safe, ethical, and positive working and learning environment. RUSO has initiated a phone and internet-based reporting system called the “RUSO Tip Line,” managed by EthicsPoint.
To submit a potential concern using the RUSO Tip Line, please visit www.ruso.ethicspoint.com which is a secure server administered by EthicsPoint or by calling toll-free at 866-898-8438. An EthicsPoint Contact Center Specialist will facilitate the call compiling all your required information.
This RUSO Tip Line is intended to complement existing management and supervisory oversight. Everyone is still encouraged to bring concerns to their supervisor, Human Resources, Affirmative Action, or other campus entities as appropriate and resolve problems or disputes through established channels whenever possible.
Step 1 - Register with Handshake
Each department should have an online account through Handshake. Please contact your Administrative Assistant or Budget Unit Head for assistance with your departmental account. Please note: SWOSU’s policy is only one account per department. Grants should be posted on the account associated with the PI’s department
Go to Single Sign On for first time registration
Click the “Handshake” app
Type email address in the “Employers & Career Centers”
The site will guide you through registration. Please wait for your “company” to be approved by the Career Exploration Coordinator before posting the first job
Step 2 - Post Your Student Job
Login to Handshake through Single Sign On
Click “Post a Job”
Complete the job posting information, be sure to include “must apply online to be considered” in the job description, once complete, click “Save”
Once submitted through the site, Human Resources reviews and posts the position
Step 3 - Application Process
Resumes will be sent directly to contacts email that is selected during the creation of the posting
Interested students must apply online via Handshake. If assistance is needed contact HR or the Career Exploration Coordinator
Step 4 - Interview
Review resumes received via Handshake
Contact applicants for interview
Select applicant who best fits position
Step 5 – Hiring a Student Worker
Prepare a Student Pay Action Form through Etrieve. Please select a start date in the future to allow HR to have time to schedule/meet with the student
Advise the student that HR will contact them via phone/email to complete employment paperwork on or before the first day of work. Failure to meet on or before the first day is a violation of state and/or federal law
Step 6 - Receive Authorization to Begin Work Email from HR
Students should only start working once the department has received the “Authorization to Begin to Work” email from HR
