The Advising and Retention Services Office oversees the Academic Hold course, which is required for all students continuing on Academic Probation or returning from Academic Suspension. The course consists of three modules designed to help students understand campus policies related to Satisfactory Academic Progress and provide guidance on returning to good academic standing. Please contact the Advising and Retention Services Office if you have questions about the course.

Advising and Retention Services staff are knowledgeable about the support services available to students both on and off campus. When needed, students seeking services may receive appropriate referrals and assistance in connecting with campus resources to help address their needs and support their success.

Midterm grading for General Education courses in which students are earning a D, F, or U is coordinated through the Advising and Retention Services Office. Students identified through this process are contacted and provided with information about available resources. They are encouraged to connect with their instructor and academic advisor for additional support and are also informed about the option to schedule one-on-one meetings with Advising and Retention Services staff.

Faculty are encouraged to refer students to the Advising and Retention Services Office if they have concerns about a student’s academic progress. A staff member will reach out to the student to address the concern and offer support.
