Crisis Services (Currently in person or Zoom):

SWOSU Counseling Services provides crisis services to currently enrolled students. If you are in crisis, you can call during office hours (M - F 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) 580-774-3776 and speak with a crisis counselor by phone or Zoom or you can walk to the Center for Health and Well-being and meet with a crisis counselor in person. Please tell the receptionist that you are in crisis and need to speak with someone as soon as possible. 

Examples of a Crisis:

  • You are in danger of hurting yourself
  • You are in danger of hurting someone else
  • Recent traumatic experience such as being assaulted

What a Crisis Session Is:

Crisis sessions are 20-minute check-ins to check if you are safe and address any immediate needs. If needed, the crisis counselor will give you instructions on how to get connected with regular/ongoing counseling or another type of care that best fits your ongoing needs.

Like other services, crisis care is confidential except in cases where there is immediate danger to yourself, someone else, or there is current child abuse.

SWOSU Campus Police (on campus) 580-774-3111and ask to speak to a counselor. 

Women's Resource Center - Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and Stalking crisis services.
