Coronavirus Monitoring Update

University Travel Ban – SWOSU has suspended all university-sponsored travel to China until the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention lifts its travel warning. We also discourage personal travel to China for students, faculty, and staff at this time.

Precautions by SWOSU Health Services – Masks may help prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses. Masks are available upon request when visiting SWOSU Health Services. Individuals with fevers and respiratory symptoms should be seen by a medical professional. If you exhibit signs of infection within 14 days of travel to a country with a global health emergency, please contact SWOSU Health Services.

Student Supports – If you are concerned about family or friends in affected areas, we welcome you to reach out to Counseling Services or to other members of the campus community. We want to help alleviate anxiety that may occur from lack of communication and fear of infection.

Emergency Management - In the event of a public health threat with significant impact on public safety, the Custer County Public Health and Medical System Emergency Response Plan will be activated. This plan coordinates state and local resources to partner on the incident.
