Employee and Student Awards Policy

Section I

Purpose

Establish guidelines for awards to employees or students. An award is any bestowal made based on merit or service on behalf of the University that is funded by University resources.

Section II

Procedure

Professional and Classified Staff awards may only be made pursuant to procedures established by the Human Resources Office and as approved by the President of the University.

Faculty awards may only be made pursuant to procedures established by the Vice President of Academic Affairs in conjunction with the Faculty Senate and as approved by the President of the University.

Student awards may only be made pursuant to procedures established by the Vice President of Student Services in conjunction with the Vice President of Academic Affairs and the Student senate and as approved by the President of the University.

These awards are subject to the following limitations:

  1. The cost of any award shall not exceed fifty dollars ($50) unless otherwise approved by the President of the University.
  2. Educational and General Funds shall not be used to fund any student award.
